SSES Hires VP of Engineering

20 December 2007 - SmartSpark Energy Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Layton of Austin, TX as our new Vice President of Engineering.  Jeff has been tasked to lead the SmartSpark team to successful product commercialization of our key technologies.

Prior to joining SmartSpark, Jeff was the Vice President of Operations and Engineering at NovaCentricx, a nanotechnology startup, where he drove improvements in yield and cycle time while leading the development and manufacturing of Photonic Curing Systems and advanced nanomaterials.  Prior to NovaCentrix, Jeff was Vice President of Operations at Coldwatt, and the Director of Power and Reliability Engineering for all hardware products at Dell.  Jeff has held various Operations and Engineering leadership roles at 3M and as an Officer in the US Navy Nuclear Submarine Service. 

Jeff graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in Electrical Engineering and has studied at the graduate level in Nuclear Engineering at the US Navy Nuclear Power School.
